Ryanair to boost Stansted flights to 700 per week

Post by Ryanairflyer on Thu 20 Mar 2014 - 12:50

Ryanair also adds services to Athens and Prague as part of the winter schedule.

Ryanair will boost the number of flights from Stansted Airport  to more than 700 a-week from 490 this winter in a move that will bring an extra two million passengers through the hub every year.

The airline released its London Stansted winter schedule for 2014 today showing that it plans to add eight new routes from there to destinations including Athens and Prague.

It will also boost frequencies on 14 existing services, including to Cork, Barcelona and Lisbon.

The company said that changes will increase the number of Ryanair flights to and from the airport to 700 a-week from its current level of 490 from next winter.

It estimated that this will add a further two million to the number of passengers travelling through Stansted every year, which the airline said would in turn boost job numbers there by 2,000.

Ryanair chief executive, Michael O’Leary said that the airline would release 100,000 for sale for travel during April and May.

London Stansted managing director, Andrew Harrison, welcomed the news and said that the airport was making progress with the £80 million refurbishment of its terminal building.
