Ryanair March Traffic Falls 200,000 (-4%) To 5.2m Customers

Post by CPH on Thu 3 Apr 2014 - 20:20

Due to fewer planes in 2014 than 2013, Ryanair faced a drop in numbers of passengers in the month of March, but the load factor was up 1% in the remaining planes.

And easyJet said it had carried 5.1 million passengers last month - up by 4.8% on the 4.9 million the airline carried in March 2013. Load factor also rose by one percentage point to 91.5%...

It all comes down to the number of planes. In 2013 there were 305 and now only 297, it is pretty logic.

Yes EasyJet got very impressive load factors, always above 90%.

That is why they need those old leased 737-400s, to keep the momentum.

And it is interesting to see Easyjet (5,107,676 March 2014) only trailing Ryanair (5,200,000 March 2014) with less than 100,000 passengers?

Easyjet is obviously making better use of their much smaller fleet than Ryanair?

It's also and mainly that easyJet has reached in March a fantastic - almost unbelievable - load factor of more than 90%, against 80% for Ryanair ...
