RYANAIR'S FIVE LARGEST BASES Empty RYANAIR'S FIVE LARGEST BASES

Post by Plain Crazy Sat 6 Mar 2010 - 11:48

Ryanair's five largest bases are as follows:-

1. STN London-Stansted (108 routes)

2. DUB Dublin (79 routes)

3. GRO Girona (Barcelona) (63 routes)

4. ALC Alicante (59 routes)

5. CRL Brussels (Charleroi) (58 routes)

This is of course at present and could easily quickly change.

Alicante surprised me, I tried to guess and had Farankfurt and Skavsta in there. Surprised Hahn isn't in the top five.

The bases are here ordered by the number of routes.
Would the order by the number of based aircraft be the same ?
Someone can tell ?

Thanks for these interesting numbers!

If I am not wrong, CRL has now 13 aircraft instead of 12.

There may be a difference between required aircraft and actual aircraft. Required aircraft is the absolute minimum to operate the schedule, and will generally describe the number which will get airbourne in that day. It does not take into account spare aircraft.

CRL is likely to have one or two spares. And bare in mind this is based on the may schedule. Some bases are likely to gain a few aircraft for June-September high period

Like the ORK one for example which will get a second plane to fly with summer routes for two or three months only :-)
