Re: want to visit romania
According to wikipedia, Arad (the town) and Arad (county) are in Transylvania, a region of Romania.

It seems there is no public transportation from the airport to downtown Arad, but a taxi is rather cheap (3 dollars )

Here it is !
http://images.google.be/images?q=dracula+castle&hl=fr&safe=off&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&oi=images&ct=title
The castle is in Bran, a village 16 miles south-west of Brasov - see here, it's the second castle on the list :

Brasov is some 300 km east of Arad.

Do you think it's safe to go to Romania?

Re: want to visit romania
The following is what I gathered from a travel website (www.vacanceo.com - in french) and by asking a Rumanian of my acquaintance.
Rumania is still a rather poor country, with low wages, but it is a safe country, with kind and friendly people. Transsylvania is a very nice part of Rumania, largely unspoilt by industry and traffic.
As everywhere in the world, the touristic centers, such as Bucarest, attract also people trying to make some dollars at the expense of supposedly rich foreigners : pick-pockets, some taxi drivers and so on. Be careful, especially (I am told) when there are tziganes (gypsies)around (there are few of them in Transylvania).
Have a nice trip !
(Neither Philip Nolan nor Paul Kilduff describe a trip to Romania in their books on Ryanair)

romania
Thanks to you all for the imformation you supplied to me,after looking and checking distance from constanta & arad airport to bran you would lose a day just in travelling so i am going to put this trip on hold for now and wait and see if ryanair will ever fly to bucharest which is only 100 miles away from bran instead 250miles from the other 2 airports.
