FRL - BLQ Empty FRL - BLQ

Rather a confusing announcement this morning :
http://www.ryanair.com/site/EN/news.php?yr=08&month=jul&story=rte-en-310708

First, the flights to the 7 destinations served from Forli will be switched from Forli to Bologna on 27th october.

Forli will become the 29th Ryanair base in march 2009, with 1 aircraft to at least 3, possibly 6 new destinations.

Bologna will become the 30th Ryanair base in june 2010, with 2 aircraft, rising to 5 aircraft in 2012.

FRL : Forli; BLQ : Bologna (Both in northern Italy).

FRL - BLQ Empty Re: FRL - BLQ

I don't think this is confusing at all. As we all know, Bologna Airport (BLQ) and Forli Airport (FRL) have been competing aggressively against each other to become new Ryanair bases. Now they are both getting it.

Forli (FRL) will start base operations in March 2009. One aircraft will be based there and the routes will be mainly focusing on domestic routes. (In the winter period 2008/2009 there will be no flights to Forli)

Bologna (BLQ) will start base operations in June 2010, when two aircraft will be based there to open a load of new routes. However, to start off, the "old" routes to/from Forli will be taken over as from 28th October 2008.

=> Bologna (BLQ) - Barcelona Girona (GRO) 4 x weekly
=> Bologna (BLQ) - Birmingham (BHX) 3 x weekly
=> Bologna (BLQ) - Brussels Charleroi (CRL) 4 x weekly
=> Bologna (BLQ) - Dublin (DUB) 2 x weekly
=> Bologna (BLQ) - Frankfurt Hahn (HHN) 3 x weekly
=> Bologna (BLQ) - London Stansted (STN) 5 x weekly
=> Bologna (BLQ) - Valencia (VLC) 4 x weekly

I think this is great, especially for the italian people living in the region! Bologna always had a lot of potential, which is now at last being developed!
