Ryanair to US? Empty Ryanair to US?

Post by Ryanflyer13 Fri 9 May 2014 - 11:26

Hi,
we all are awaiting already 6 years since the transatlantic ideas first came up... lack of aircraft,... but why does Ryanair not keep it simpler with existing 737-800 fleet? They could fly European mainland to Iceland (e.g. Keflavik airport), and from Iceland to America... Iceland to New York for example only 4200 km, easily doable with a 737!

any ideas why this was not explored (yet?)

Exactly what I am thinking already for many years.

By the way, this summer Canadian low cost carrier WestJet will even fly directly from Ireland to St John (Newfoundland) with a Boeing 737. All the seats were sold within hours.
