Ryanair is to open new routes from London Gatwick to Alicante (ALC) and Gerona (GRO), in Spain.
Until now, Ryanair connects Gatwick to Irish destinations only : Dublin, Shannon, Cork.

To add to this I have noticed that Ryanairs pulling out of Forli has given Forli-based airline Windjet the opportunity to open four new routes including Cagliari!
Shannon is also getting a new route, but not from Ryanair. Big surprise: Cologne-Bonn to Shannon operated by Germanwings!
