airbus @ Ryanair?
First of all I'm sorry - I've found an article about it on polish site only, so I can't quote it in english.
Shortly, they've written, that Ryanair is thinking about order even 400 new aircrafts. Michael Crawley said, that the company is trying to see what they can get from both - Boeing (B737-800 NG) and Airbus (A320, or A321) company. As he also said, their traffic has reached about 58 milion of passengers last year, and in long planning they may flying even with 200 milion pax anually.
Have you heard something about it? Airbus might be some kind of revolution in the company, as those planes are wider little bit, and new kind of aircrafts needs new kind of technicians/engineers in bases. Maybe they'll run Boeing and Airbus only bases Or is it just a rumour to show Boeing, that they may lost really large order, to force them to lower the price? Same process is seemingly when they want to force airports to lower their prices/taxes/whatever

Re: airbus @ Ryanair?
Here is an article in English on the same topic :
http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/7589dc9c-f193-11dd-8790-0000779fd2ac.html
Ryanair is thus in early talks with both Airbus and Boeing, about an order for 300-400 short haul jets.
Given the airline's size, Ryanair could move to a mixed Airbus/Boeing fleet, said Michaël Cawley, deputy chief executive.
(have you noticed that, of late, the FR official announcements come from Michaël Cawley and not from the other Michaël ?)

Re: airbus @ Ryanair?
not so fast re Airbus ....
Ryanair's attempts to face off Boeing and Airbus in a bidding war over a lucrative multibillion-dollar, 400-jet order may have come a cropper, with the European manufacturer categorically stating it will not be interested in making a sales pitch. Airbus is currently the world's largest manufacturer of commercial aircraft – a position it exchanges with its American rival Boeing frequently. John Leahy, Airbus chief commercial officer, said: "We are not in discussions with Ryanair about aircraft. That is on the record. We don't have plans to enter a sales campaign with Ryanair, which would be very expensive and very time-consuming."

Re: airbus @ Ryanair?
I really don't want to see our beautiful airline turning to Airbus... eugh! I doubt it will happen though. One of the basics of the original low-cost model that Michael introduced back in the early 90's was the 'one aircraft type' plan. It's cheaper for maintenance, safety and crew training. As well as this, Airbuses are pieces of s***.

Re: airbus @ Ryanair?
I agree : Ryanair is Boeing, not Airbus.
EasyJet has switched in the past from Boeing to Airbus, that didn't help them much.
Moreover, the A320 is ugly, especially the rear (in my opinion).

Re: airbus @ Ryanair?
Well actually the airbuses are newer in design and technology. The 737 is a well designed product but still older than the airbus. I like the 737 a lot, but The new airbuses aren't that bad, IMHO.
Just look the comfort: The easyjet a319 has a pitch of 29 inches, meanwhile the FR 737-800 has 30". I think that the airbus is more comfortable, even if it's smaller. Also what I don't like of the new FR737-800 is that there's no net in front of you and that the seat is not reclinable. Also he seat isn't that comfortable.
Hereby I won't criticise the choice of FR, nor I would say that the 737-800 is a bad aircraft, I just want to say thatthe airbus in my opinion isn't that bad.
I hope that there will be soon a FR plane to the states, airbus, boeing or whatever, as it is safe and cheap! C'mon Uncle Mick!

Re: airbus @ Ryanair?
"We are and will always be a Boeing customer"
Airbus are absoutely rubbish, I don't like flying on them at all. In terms of comfort, the 737-800 is very comfortable. Easyjet is cramped and restricting.
In terms of safety, Boeing are the Volvo. Nothing beats a Boeing, after all, who rejected a computer to fly the aircraft... and in recent news. A fly-by-wire system isn't very attractive...
However, in these tough times Airbus might get the deal. But I have a feeling that Ryanair will remain flying the worlds safest aircraft. Boeing 737.

It's not a Boeing problem but a Ryanair one. It's better not to have net and reclinable seat for the maintenance.
In other airlines you have some 737's with a first class.

I'm sorry but even if I'm a proBoeing I can't let you say that.

And probably more or less the same for Airbus...

Re: airbus @ Ryanair?
I was flying by easyjet a couple of times and I was always enjoy.. To me, a320 is more comfortable, its seats are more comfortable than 737's.. interior of a320 looks bigger to me. I enjoy a320 flight better than 737. and I think there's a bit more place for legs.. nets are also useful to me:) If I have a choice, I would prefer to fly a320.. I don't know about construction things, just my feel and eye comparation.

Once again it's nothing to do with the constructor (airbus, boeing...) but the airline...

Re: airbus @ Ryanair?
Yeah, but have a look, Easy Jet probable has packed as many seats as possible and I don't think Ryanair could squeze it's passengers even more. So comparision between EasyJet's standard and FR's one is in right place this way
Anyway, my very first flight was by EasyJet. From this time I have some kind of illusion, that the level of the floor and seats is lowering from front to end of the cabin. It looks funny during take off because aircraft looks like it was ascending little bit more ;-)

Re: airbus @ Ryanair?
I find the 737 more comfortable, I have little experience on Easyet A319's, but the BA A320's and A321's were no better than Ryanair.
I find with new aircraft, the seats are quite firm. But after a while, they are quite soft.
The older aircraft, the ones with older titles and fabic seats are incredibly comfortable! My last flight was on EI-CSW and the seats were very soft, and at least 32" of leg room. Another recent flight was on another similar plane, and the seats were very soft. And they were not leather!

I agree Airbus is not better than the 737-800! I hope airbus will increase fleet of 737-800 and maybe the 737-900. Can anyone tell me wat MOL meant by saying that aircrafs from ireland and england will be placed to countries like holland, spain and greece.,

He means that the aircraft which were stationed at Dublin and Shannon will be moved to another base somewhere in Europe. This means more routes from that destination - but also means less routes from the base it just left.

When there is an offer on a flight that you book, the €10 tax is omitted.

Re: airbus @ Ryanair?
Ryanair pay your tax when it is an offer from them! But normally there is a10 pound charge. I Think Ryanair must demand that airport where they fly from must decrease there cost. It now cost around 15 till 20 euro fee when you fly with ryanair so airport mus cut in there costs. Then we can travel really cheap!

Hi my last flight was on East Jet and I sat in the same seats as I do on Ryanair namley over the wings for the extra leg room and I thought that the Airbus of EJ was quieter and warmer and with less draft than on Ryanair's Boeing. Also saw the new colour scheme of RA in Malaga!
