New Destination : Osijek?
News taken from another forum:
"A fresh news as an addition to the subject: trans-border airports.
Tomorrow FR will announce a new destination in its network: it's Osijek
on the outskirts of Croatia. Not much the centre of interest itself, a
smallish town with only 100.000 inhabitants. The airport's location is
interesting, however, at least from "my" point of view. Situated
approx. 160 kilometers from the Serbian capital, Belgrade, not far from
Bosnia and just 55 km from the Southern border of Hungary. Especially
the amount of Serbian pax flying to (Germany?) could be significant
there."
There is expected to be a press conference about this at HHN tomorrow.
I am expecting a cheap seat deal at midnight to coincide with this news

Re: New Destination : Osijek?
Interesting news, since it was a long a time that we've seen a really new destination. (New routes are most of the time connections between existing Ryanair-airports)

Re: New Destination : Osijek?
Well, Croatia seems to be very interesting place in european tourism, so it's great info I guess. I think those people wants to travel for small amount of money, so it's even better one :-)
My personal thinking is, that in wednesday we may get very cheap offer, as it is usual around Ryanair's conferences. So tomorrow offer may be another one day proposal? We'll see :-)

I agree.
It's a particular place...really closed to some interesting cities.
If Osijek will be a new destination, it can become a bet for MOL and also for Croatian turism ministry.

Re: New Destination : Osijek?
The rumor seems to be right. Osijek is now a new destination in the online check-in list at the Ryanair website.

Re: New Destination : Osijek?
Great news that FR are opening this route, OK it's not the most interesting of places but great onward possibilities such as Belgrade and Bosnia. Nut why oh why is it just from Frankfurt?? I would love this to open up from any London airport. What are the flight times and connection possibilities and what are FR like if you miss a connection? Are they likely to transfer you to the next one?

Re: New Destination : Osijek?
Hi there...this kind of 'connection' is possible
STN-HHN, HHN-OSI 07.15-09.30 then 10.20-12.30
OSI-HHN, HHN-STN 13.05-15.10 then 18.10-18.30
Bear
in mind, however, that it is inadvisable to leave just 50 minutes for
the connection (even if you have checked in online!) in case of delays
etc. Also remember that Ryanair is strictly a 'point to point
airline'...that is to say that they don't offer connections. If you
choose to buy one it is at your own risk whatever the outcome is...

Re: New Destination : Osijek?
Entry requirements for Irish nationals: Irish nationals do not require a visa to visit Serbia for a stay
of up to 90 days. This is the same for UK nationals.
By the by, when are you off to investigate Osijek, ruinair?!

Re: New Destination : Osijek?
I advice to visit the official OSI website...it's a really compete website.
For example...it's possible to take a shuttle bus for Osijek city only for 25,00 Kn [= € 3,90] one way.
Bus stop is in front of passenger terminal; the buses depart from there 20 minutes after aircraft landing.
From Osijek city, buses depart 2 hours and half before the scheduled flights.
This is the link...

It's possible to see pictures about OSI airport here.

Re: New Destination : Osijek?
Hm... might be interesting for me, but FR has cutted WRO-HHN flights down to two weekly. Winter schedule maybe...
