Hi!

Can someone please tell me why the cabin lights are dimmed when landing after dark?

Best Wishes,

... And also at take-off.
I have heard it's done in order that the passengers see more of what happens outside in case of a crash - without being blinded by the full lights of the cabin.

I am a FR Cabin Crew Member,

Lights are dimmed to give PAX a better view of the outside conditions of the A/C.
Also because In case of a quick evacuation, PAX will not be blended by the lights and will find the EXITs quicker by following the emergency path floor lighting.
