TLN : Toulon - Hyères (France)
Toulon is a harbour (one of the two main French Navy bases, with Brest) on the Mediterranean south coast of France, between Marseille and Nice.
The airport is to the east of Toulon, near Hyères.
It is not very busy, even desert at times.
But the terminal is modern, spacious, even luxurious (it serves high-class resorts such as Saint-Tropez).
This summer 2011, Ryanair fly from Toulon to Stansted and Liverpool.
Runways :
05/23 - 2120 m
14/32 - 1900 m

Transportation :
There is a bus line to the airport from Toulon bus station (just besides the railway station) via Hyères bus station; line 102 of "réseau Mistral".
Only five daily return trips - 1,40 euro, tickets bought on the bus - 40 minutes from Toulon, more like 1 hour when heavy traffic on the way.

Departures : on the upper level

TLN is also a Navy air base; there is an old Fouga Magister on show not far from the airport, on the route to Hyères plage :

Nice airport, much better than Marseille MP2. I've been to Toulon/Hyères/St Tropez last summer and I've seen the airport without making a stop there.
I guess the routing of your day was CRL/MRS (train) TLN/STN/DUB/CRL.

In fact, as you guessed, CRL-MRS was with Ryanair and then bus and train to Toulon, and bus to TLN.
But I made an infidelity to Ryanair, as I took Jetairfly back to CRL
They fly Charleroi-Toulon-Brest-Toulon-Charleroi on friday and sunday.

Hi,
Didn't know JAF had a stop in Brest, is it always this routing?
What bird uses JAF on this route B737- 500/700/800 ?

PS Any chance ryanair is gonna switch MRS for TLN with the problems they had at MRS ?

Re: TLN : Toulon - Hyères (France)
Jetairfly do Toulon - Brest since a few years - before, it was from Brussels, now from Charleroi.
I have been told that the load factor is quite good on Toulon-Brest-Toulon, joining the two main French Navy bases.
My flight TLN-CRL was on OO-JAN, a 737-700.
I don't think that Ryanair will leave MRS for TLN - they have now no base in France, and they manage to fly the French flights with externally based aircraft ou sometimes overnighting aircraft.
