Terminal

The Ryanair passengers are carried by bus if the aircraft is parked away from the terminal.
Arrival is on ground floor, Departure on the first floor.

Birmingham Airport offers an aircraft viewing area open to the public to view aircraft taking off and landing. The aircraft viewing area is free to the public and is located at the edge of Long Stay Car Park 1 nearest to the terminal building.

Transportation

The airport terminal is connected in 2-3 minutes to the "Birmingham International Station" by the "Air-Rail Link", an automatic train (free), very frequent services.
Seven trains per hour from the Birmingham International Station to the Birmingham New Street railway station ( 10 minutes - 3.30 GBP single in november 2013).

shuttle train is very good especially if you are attending a concert/show at the NEC door to door service.
Also a very good indoor viewing area at BHX is available for the aircraft spotter... Indoor is ideal considering the amount of rain Birmingham gets

I have taken off and arrived at (BHX) 2 times and have always departed and arrived at gate 1 ...a mystery.

NATS is a good site. I use rocketroute for europe and was on the site at the same time.
