Re: Vote on standing seats
I gave my vote...
NO/NON/NEIN to all 3.
Standing on a flight is just not possible, and honestly - how much space would you save? How could one perform the brace position if the worst is happening?
I know M'OL likes free publicity - but recently this is crossing the line. What would be wrong in painting 3 planes with BYE BYE BRITISH AIRWAYS?

Re: Vote on standing seats
I agree. As someone said recently ... what does MO'L want us to do next to save money? .... fly the planes? I am going to get a t-shirt printed which says .... 'I WONT STAND FOR RYANAIR!'

Re: Vote on standing seats
I am wondering whether these ideas are just a ploy to get you to log on to www.ryanair.com and make a booking!
I think the results... if published would be a strong NO to stand-seats. Which really cant be called seats...

Re: Vote on standing seats
I think the results will be a massive NO.
Ryanair will thus bow to the general opinion of its customers - end of the story !

Re: Vote on standing seats
I couldn't agree more! A strong No/Non/Nein result! Excellent news for customers!
Certain things just can't be done - that, €1 toliet charge, and taking bags to the plane: simply are no-go's.

Re: Vote on standing seats
I really think this is never going to happen. Its just for publicity.
In order to increase the number of passengers on board by 50%, they would need to redesign the aircraft with the additional emergency exits.
They would need to have more cabin crew on board (1 per every 50 passenger seats)and it does not seem possible that safety procedures such as the brace position can be done easily if needed.
Also standing seats would not allow for the carriage of infants, young people, or short people (looking at the proposed pictures anyway)

I think CabinCrewDave has answered the question completely - it simply cannot happen unless serious changes are made.

Re: Vote on standing seats
I haven't voted and I will not. The only reason is because it's just a stunt - even if ppl vote yes it's nearly impossible to provide!

Re: Vote on standing seats
Well you never know with Ryanair! So I think it is better for everyone to vote NO to show that these crazy and wacky ideas will not be welcomed!

Re: Vote on standing seats
They don't care about pax, so voting should change nothing. And it's not because of Ryanair has strange ideas which like to provide. It's because technically (construction of the plane, security on board) it's nearly impossible in my opinion!

Re: Vote on standing seats
The results are in, http://www.ryanair.com/site/EN/news.php?yr=09&month=jul&story=gen-en-220709
Somehow, I find those results very hard to believe. I do not see anyone wanting to stand on a flight. Take-off would be considerably uncomfortable likewise with any turbulence.
If Boeing even considered to look into this - it certainly will damage the reputation!
Another question - how could the fares for those who stand be free?

Re: Vote on standing seats
Yes - No - Yes
For me the low fares are more important then a comfortable sit...expecially for only one hour flights; for this I prefer to select a way for save money, if it's possible.

Re: Vote on standing seats
Actually, most of short (up to one hour) flights are for free (+ airport fees/online checkin fee) so it doesn't make any difference for me
