Re: RYG: Moss Rygge (Norway)
I have just booked a day return trip to Rygge @ £12 Return i could not resist
Outbound
Sun13 Nov 11
Flight FR3224 06:40 Depart Manchester (MAN)
09:35 Arrive Oslo Rygge (RYG)return
Sun13 Nov 11
Flight FR9129 17:55 Depart Oslo Rygge (RYG)
18:50 Arrive Liverpool (LPL)
I do not have a lot of time to spend so would like to visit a region closer to the airport.
I have been reading about the Moss Region not too far away from the airport, has anybody been or maybe can suggest a route to take.

Re: RYG: Moss Rygge (Norway)
I don't know Moss.
But you could easily go to Oslo :
- the bus after your flight should bring you in Oslo Bus Terminal around 11.15
- the bus to Rygge for the LPL flight leaves the bus terminal at 15.15
You thus have nearly 4 hours to spend at Oslo, enough to visit the city center.

RYGGE-MOSS-HORTEN
A good trip for those flyers in Rygge with limited time-
I travelled in november 2011 so prices may change.
on approach into (ENRY) Rygge
A very misty landing
From 14:30 onwards the whole area was very foggy, by the time we departed visibility was almost zero.
Outside Rygge airport is a free bus to Rygge Train station, the journey takes 8 minutes. (Bus is Blue as seen in the photo).
At Rygge station take the train to Moss station, the journey takes only 7minutes.
Train tickets can be bought on the free bus for (34NOK) single.
Moss Train Station or it should be re-named The Bicycle Graveyard (Wow lots of bicycles some not ridden for months) Only short walk from Moss Train station to the port of Moss the ferry crossing to Horten takes only half an hour. Ferry tickets are 30NOK single trip. pay on the ferry.
In Horten the town centre is about 10-15 minutes walk from the port
or maybe you would prefer the indoor shopping complex only 5-10 minutes away.

Is the Rygge Ekspressen bus really the cheapest way to get to Oslo? It's actually relatively pricey in comparison to the actual flight. A return bus journey is 290kr (£31) now and the price actually went up by around 20kr recently in the last month or two. The return flight from London to Rygge is only £26. Is the train any cheaper? Is there another bus service?

Re: RYG: Moss Rygge (Norway)
the last time when I informed myself the train was cheaper than the bus. but only a little bit. both still expansive, but all of norway is! so, if you are frustrated by the shuttle prices, you will be frustrated everywhere

Yeah, I'm really worried about that...so worried that I was thinking of packing instant noodles with me on my carry-on so I can eat them while I'm in Oslo, lol. Do you think they will get past security? Should be no problem right?
