Paris Vatry as the french LTN !

It seems that the Vatry Airport has a very high capacity and ramp and ILS CAT III . It's all Equiped and set to host 7 millions Passengers per year .

Located 140Kms from Paris and within an hour drive from Disneyland Paris . This Airport wants Ryanair to land and open a new Base .

They're working with the SNCF to add a Rail Connection to Paris .

What do you think ?

IMHO it's even worst than Hahn for Frankfurt....It shares really nothing with Paris (while, IMHO, Beauvais does) and the distances/times on the airport are at least optimistic.
I mean every new route is a new opportunity, but we should be realistic: Duesseldorf Weeze, Frankfurt Hahn, Barcelona Girona (REUS!!!) are just examples. I still wait for Bergamo Muenchen airport or Brno Warsaw airports

Well, Vatry as a destination is good idea in my opinion. Vatry as a Paris destination, let's say it's something like a mistake

The Airport wants to be a big LCC Airport and it already has the capacity for it . So why not ?

Vatry has at present no passenger traffic and is desperately seeking to attract some scheduled passengers flights.
Ryanair surely could get very generous conditions to land there but : is there enough traffic to warrant it ?

Yes, also there are many airports all around the world wanted to have large traffic and which have capacity to deal with that.
I was asking if there is any serious information like a press note, or thing like that :-)

I think 140km is a little far to call it Paris...

But if the rail connections were good, such as no more than 90 minutes to Paris (hopefully less) Then it probably would be very good!

I think FR probably will open a base there anyway - even if it is miles away from Paris. If the flights were considerably cheaper than the Eurostar or any other airline - then I'd say yes!

Vatry is a major cargo hub for Paris and currently gets a large amount on freight services, it is not really anywhere near Paris.

However it is close to tourist areas like Troyes, Reims, Epernay and all of northern Burgundy. Also name another airport in the center of France, that gets regular passenger services? (Central France is very under served by airlines)

I don't think this will ever happen but I for one would like to be able to fly to Stansted from an airport an hours drive away rather than have the 4 hour drive to the tunnel.
