Post by blabla Fri 16 Apr 2010 - 9:50

Hello!
My flight Fr8868 from London Stansted to Tours is not listed in the cancelled flights list. I think that it will still be cancelled, but I can't contact either of the airports or the ryanair helpline so I don't know what to do.
Can you please give me some advice?

It's worse than that. Because the weather is so good right now, it's not expected to clear until at least next Friday, and that's if the volcano stops erupting and also based on weather conditions over the next week or so. So expect this to go on for the foreseeable........

fortunately for myself ..my trip is only pleasure ..must be terrible for those who rely on flying as part of business... I have been looking on the leeds airport site..it seems all are trying to help passengers affected- free parking for passengers whom need to rebook due to the situation.. also looks like ryanair will refund or re schedule tickets for free and the company i have booked my accomodation with are willing to refund monies if i book again after things hopefully get back to normal.
I've always wondered how we would cope with a situation like this seems my wondering may be over... just hope all settles sooner rather than later and more importantly the local citizens in iceland are ok.

Volcanic Ash Disruption Megathread Empty cancelled flights

Post by ozzie Sat 17 Apr 2010 - 23:56

Hi, perhaps someone will be able to advise, I'm tearing my hair out here......
My wife and friends are due to fly Alicante - Bristol on Sunday 18th April. This flight is obviously cancelled, but the website is a bit unclear. It says not to travel to the airport, but the customer service dept is not open Saturday and Sunday for advice. Because they have already checked in online prior to departure from Bristol, changes are not possible online.
How do they know what flight they are to return on eventually?
Like all other airlines Ryanair will have to facilitate the accommodation for all stranded passengers, but how do the passengers know where they have to stay? Do they arrange to stay extra night(s) at their present hotel and reclaim from Ryanair?
If anyone could help I'd be grateful.

Volcanic Ash Disruption Megathread Empty Cancelled flights

Post by ASHton Sun 18 Apr 2010 - 12:00

Hi

Commiserations to others on this site whose flight plans are affected. Maybe an
incredibly naive suggestion, but for those who are unable to change flight 'cos
already 'checked in' - and given that it seems unlikely that there will be
flights from UK until at least midweek - maybe it is worth faxing Ryanair
immediately and leave your contact telephone.

My own problem (any advice welcome):

I have a Ryanair booking (originally departing today) Liverpool to Spain (Granada)
and returning to Liverpool on Friday (from Malaga).

I changed (for free) today's flight out for tomorrow (Monday), but no flights
to Granada tomorrow, so changed destination to Malaga. I have kept the
original inbound flight on Friday.

It is now likely there will be no flights for next few days. Does anyone know
how I can change Friday's return leg (Malaga to Liverpool)? I imagined I could do
this online as I have not checked in for either flight - but not possible. I guess
that because Ryanair's booking system / database does not link the two flights,
it cannot process the inbound flight change online. I'll try faxing Ryanair but thought
maybe someone here could advise.

I just noticed the update on BBC site:

UK "flight restrictions have been extended until at least 0100 BST on
Monday"

Thank you

our flt shows cancelled and is not due to depart leeds tomorrow at approx 5:20pm... so i am guessing flights leaving the uk will not anytime on Monday.
Like alot say its not likely flights will leave for a good few days and with the pollution heading south covering france and now spain well things will not be getting better soon.

These are questions that I have ever done.

The law is clear but I do not understand how it is implemented !!

As Ryanair ensure housing in a hotel ?

Anyone can help me understand ?

Thanks in advance for answers.

The fact that Ryanair does not provide not mean it is not expected.

The European Community Regulation No. 261/2004 provide hotel accommodation in cases
where a stay of one or more nights becomes necessary, or where a stay additional
to that intended by you becomes necessary.
