Re: Unconfirmed New Bases, Routes, etc. (Rumours only)
Forget about the rumours on a Santander base. MOL was there on Tuesday, which was just a disappointing as the Maastricht press conference. Just pax statistics and routes already announced. It will be 17 routes this summer and MOL rejected all the rumours on a Santander base.

The return of Ryanair to Verona-Brescia? According to http://www.theairdb.com/news/20130203120-ryanair.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter (which has just been updated since a long time) Ryanair will open 16 routes, to London-Stansted, London-Luton, Düsseldorf-Weeze, Leeds-Bradford, Liverpool, Cork, Rome-Ciampino, Oslo-Rygge, Barcelona-El Prat, Bremen, Milan-Bergamo (??), Paris-Beauvais, Dublin, Chania, Brussels-Charleroi and Karlsruhe-Baden.
Ryanair left Brescia in 2010 if I remember correctly, transferring all flights to Verona International Airport.

Will Ryanair operate flights from Warsaw Chopin airport? The airport is on the 'new routes' list on the website. If you change 'Modlin' to 'Chopin' you get this page: http://www.ryanair.com/pl/loty-z/warsaw-chopin-do-budapeszt Is it a new airport, or just because Modlin is closed? Maybe they will drop Modlin and start from Chopin? What do you think?

Any updates on this rumour? I heard that there will be some more new destinations from Maastricht for this summer schedule but there's nothing mentioned yet, however the official summer schedule from Maastricht Aachen Airport is online already..

Until recently with Modlin closed, you would still buy a fare (and get a boarding pass) to WMI (and from WMI - their boarding passes were valid at Chopin WAW). However, with effect from March 1st the booking system is using Chopin instead (much to general frustration last week when trying to book a ticket out on Monday 25th Feb and back on Friday 1st March - had to be on two separate bookings) - so that's probably why both are appearing on the route map at the moment.

WMI may remain closed till end of year
for winter season all traffic is routed to WAW. What will be in summer noone knows..... but... Winter 2013/14 there may be some surprises that traffic will be moved to Radom (new airport which should become operational in September)

Seems that RYR will leave Asturias and Bilbao and much reduce traffic at Madrid and Barcelona if the airport taxes are not reduced (they have recently been much raised). Lowering the total Spanish traffic by 5,4 million pax in 2013.

Re: Unconfirmed New Bases, Routes, etc. (Rumours only)
Michael O'Leary said at TSF :
Q : shall Canova (Treviso) become a Ryanair base ?
A : We'll see in 3 years. In the meantime, our next new base will be opened in the south, probably in Sicily, where there are airports which have been deserted by other airlines such as Alitalia - they need passengers and offer fares that are most interesting.

Ryanair in talks over Cardiff Airport routes
The Welsh Government is in talks with budget airline Ryanair about operating from Cardiff Airport as its purchase of the terminal is expected to be confirmed next week, it is understood.
Before Christmas the Welsh Government entered into exclusive talks to buy the Rhoose-based airport from Spanish owners Abertis.
The initial agreement between the two parties, subject to a due diligence process, is understood to be around £51m.
It is understood representatives of the Welsh Government have already sounded out a number of low-cost airlines over setting up operations at the airport, including Ryanair. However, Ryanair’s wish list of support is understood to have been too high for the Welsh Government – although discussions are continuing.

Extract :
Low-cost European airline Ryanair is looking at introducing flights between Israel and Poland to cater for Israeli schoolchildren visiting the former Nazi death camp at Auschwitz.
"It seems that every Israeli child has to go to Poland to go and see Auschwitz. We can help them with that," said the carrier's deputy chief executive, Howard Millar.
A Ryanair spokesman confirmed to AFP that the airline "has had discussions with a number of Israeli airports, but they are purely exploratory at this time".
He rejected the characterisation that Ryanair was trying to cash in on Jewish children's visits to Auschwitz, saying Millar was merely remarking on the potential for growth in the Israeli market.
The site, located near Krakow in southern Poland, has become a major visitor attraction and many schools in Israel organise educational trips there for their pupils.
http://www.haaretz.com/news/national/low-cost-airline-ryanair-mulls-israel-auschwitz-route-1.525427
Some 25,000 Israeli teenagers visit Nazi death camps in Poland annually in trips organized since 1988 by Israeli high schools and Israel’s Education Ministry. Parents pay about $1,500 per student, with some $580 going to cover flight costs.
According to Israel’s education ministry, the ministry uses Israeli airliners as well as LOT, the Polish carrier.
On April 21, Israel’s Cabinet approved an open skies agreement to boost airline traffic to and from Europe. Set to go into effect next April, it will ease restrictions and quotas on flights between Israel and European Union countries and likely will increase competition and lower prices.

Extracts :
Ryanair is understood to be in the early stages of negotiations to open links with Belfast International (BFS - aka Aldergrove).
Ryanair operated from George Best Belfast City Airport from 2007 until October 2010, when it controversially axed services, blaming delays in approving a runway extension.
But Michael O'Leary is keen to open more high-volume linkage and sees the potential of moving to Belfast International, which handled 4.3 million passengers in 2012.

We plan to announce more new routes and new bases later this year as we exploit significant growth opportunities in markets where competitors including Air Berlin, Alitalia, Iberia, LOT, and SAS are cutting back.

* Ryanair in Lisbon in winter 2013? Strong possibility. *
The Executive Vice President of Ryanair, Michael Cawley, will give a press conference in Lisbon on Monday, September 16, 2013.
The official will announce information resulting from months of negotiations between Ryanair, the airport of Lisbon and ANA / Vinci. The Low Cost Portugal knows that there are strong indications that most European low cost airline pass to operate in the Portuguese capital even in 2013.
Michael Cawley - Ryanair
According to recent Ryanair requested slots to operate in winter 2013-2014, and now time to decide if you will use them or not.
The slots assigned are 1232 allocated and 638 pending
