Toilet fee ?
Ryanair might charge - perhaps 1 pound sterling - for use of the toilet on board :

I hope this is a joke, Mr CEO ?

No it's not a joke, I already printed my Online-Toilet-Paper. Only 1 euro per sheet, but hey it comes with the official Ryanair print!

Re: Toilet fee ?
I think it's a very good idea!
I'll never use the toilet on board, and now at this time each time I buy a Ryanair ticket I pay also for the toilet THAT I DON'T USE!!!

Re: Toilet fee ?
Everybody knows the famous sentence about a drink sold on board : "Buy one - and get one free !" (El segundo gratis ! N'est-ce pas mââârveilleux ?).
I suggest it to be altered into : "Buy one - and get a free pee !"

Re: Toilet fee ?
Can't see this one taking off, if you pardon the pun. You don't think it's possible that people might just hold the door open for the next person???? Also I doubt Ryanair will do anything that will affect their inflight drinks sales? Charge for the loo £1, average drink price around £2.50! Think it's just a clever bit of free publicity personally.

For suppose, it's possible to use FREE airport bathrooms.
The only problem will be to meet a lot of customers for use them.
I don't think so. The idea it's great for me...but only if it will be applied on "long" flights, like with 2 hours and/or more.Rich00cap wrote:...Also I doubt Ryanair will do anything that will affect their inflight drinks sales? customers are not stupid. IMHO if this idea will be applied to each flights, nobody will buy more drinks into the plane.
The best should be cut beverage cost for promote bath cost.
IMHO [2] some passenger [..like consumed actors] will improvise to have intestinal hake or something similar for disfrute the plane bath for free.

Re: Toilet fee ?
Well, in my opinion people will stop buy drinks onboard, even more, if passengers will use airport toilets instead of planes' ones, airport taxes will increase because of higher costs of pax's holding
To be honest, I've heard about this idea 3 months ago but I couldn't imagine it may come true! I'm not using toilet very often, so it's not problem for me. Anyway it's kind of hm.... controversial decision. Ryanair is on people's mouths once more

Re: Toilet fee ?
Here in the Netherlands outside (at stations, shops) you'll always have to pay for the toilet... so why not in the plane?

Re: Toilet fee ?
After just returning from Palma de Mallorca and hearing about this, I have to laugh. What would MOL prefer, myself and 15 others (on a stag weekend) buying drinks from their bar trolley at SILLY prices. There were a fair few rounds of drinks of £25 plus.......... OR we DON'T buy the drinks and pay £1 for the toilet.
Now I was sat in Row 22 on the way home and as I never knew about this before I flew home I never thought to count, but I doubt I saw anything more than about 20 - 25 people pass me to the rear toilets.
If this EVER came in, I personally would not drink before or during a flight.
As RyanAdmin mentions, there are places you always have to pay for the toilet, but there are options. The BBC interview I viewed, MOL mentioned the Liverpool Street Station toilets at 20p a go.. Go upstairs and use the McDonalds toilets for free! If not use KFC or Burger King at Liverpool Street for free also. Local knowledge an advantage
When you are trapped in a metal tube at 35,000 feet, you have NO option, apart from a bottle!

Re: Toilet fee ?
It's going to happen, says MOL :
http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/ireland/2009/0306/1224242371838.html?via=mr
He said that if the airline was prevented from charging passengers on the way in to the toilet, it would impose the charge when they were on the way out.
