Dutch Tax
It seems the Dutch government has scrapped the travel tax it had introduced in 2008 :
Ryanair, Europe’s largest low fares airline, today (25 Mar) welcomed the Dutch Government’s decision to scrap the tourist tax introduced in 2008. Ryanair called again on the Irish and UK Governments to follow this example

Re: Dutch Tax
I expect to see a decline in traffic at Weeze NRN? I think that must be the reason why e.g Transavia use that airport.

I do not agree with you in that point. Taxes at NRN are still far lower than in Maastricht or Eindhoven. So I expect NRN to keep on growing but Eindhoven has a chance not to grow a little bit now too!
If I were Dutch I would be proud of my governments decision today!

Re: Dutch Tax
It's about time that at least one European country, finally, realizes that charging a new tax; for eco-reasons. Is firstly not going to affect the airline, but the tourism is going to decline!
Whether or not, I personally get on board that flight is regardless - it will still fly; just with an empty seat - or someone else sitting in it.
I hope the rest of Europe follows suit, especially Ireland - and low-fares can remain low-fares!
I don't agree, NRN is going to continue growing - just like nearly all major RYR bases - and the new ones to come!
