Easyjet to cut routes at Luton and closes East Midlands base

I just read that Easyjet will close 1/5 of the Luton-routes and the base at East Midlands airport will be shut down. The planes probably will based on new bases in Europe.

Easyjets passengers amount grew 4.7% to 4.8 million in August 2009, and the load factor grew 0.5% to 91.5% (compared to August 2008)

It seems ryanair bail other airline passengers (sky europe and now easyjet) out in times of trouble and may i say it makes great business sense.. but when ryanair close a % of its flights others dont step in ... maybe they are not in a position to help... the future is looking brighter for ryan.

It is reported on PPRUNe that the FR B837 with "BYE BYE EASYJET" is at the moment based at East Midlands (EI-DLO)
