Re: Cancelled Routes - Read Rules in 1st post
Looks like Wizz Air finally defeated Ryanair on a direct competition route (Eindhoven-Gdansk) instead of the other way around. Eindhoven schedule has been released for a few weeks now, including the WMI route, but routes to Gdansk are still missing.
Looking at the flight overview of EIN, a FR flight from Marseille arrives at 9:15 ons Tuesday and the departure back to MRS is at 14:00 from EIN. So that's the only capacity available. Don't think the EIN-GDN route will return. No announcement made ofcourse

The reason is a little bit silly - Ryanair forgot ask for permission the polish aviation authority (Croatia ins't the EU's member yet and didn't join to 'open sky')ALEXANDRECCFAIRPORT wrote:Do you know why the WRO-ZAD route has been cancelled ?

Re: Cancelled Routes - Read Rules in 1st post
Ending 2014-01-09:
Gran Canaria (LPA) ↔ Stockholm-Västerås (VST)
Ryanair will stop flying between Västerås and Gran Canaria earlier than planned. The reason is the economy. Long-haul holidays worthwhile worse for the airline, the traffic in the middle distance to Gran Canaria was a try. ← The route to/from Tenerife South will continuing as planned with ending date 2013-03-30
Ending 2014-01-10:
Tenerife South (TFS) ↔ Karlstad (KSD)
Gran Canaria (LPA) ↔ Aarhus (AAR)
Same reason as above with LPA-VST.
Original ending date was 2013-03-30

According to this usually reliable source
http://www.air-journal.fr/2013-12-09-clermont-ferrand-ryanair-supprime-charleroi-592181.html
the Charleroi - Clermont-Ferrand route won't be reopened next summer season (too few passengers : load factor was less than 60%).

Sad day for Maastricht-Aachen Airport. This morning the based crew has been informed that as of March 2014 the base will be closed. Until now, these are routes are still bookable: Alicante, Bari, Faro, Porto, Palma de Mallroca , Girona and Trapani. All other routes will probably be cancelled (Bergamo, Pisa, Malaga, Treviso, Brive, Tenerife, Stansted and Dublin)

Very sad indeed! MST has financial problems, so this will definitely not contribute in solving those. I must say.. MST only has a market for summer seasonal flights to Spain and Portugal if you ask me. It's simply too close to Eindhoven for routes like DUB and STN. Flew from MST to/from Palma, Tenerife, Girona and Faro myself, with good loads.

Sad news for Sweden! Ryanair cuts several flights from base Stockholm-Skavsta and removes at least one aircraft from the base. Other airports in Sweden are suffering to in the summer schedule 2014 as a couple of routes are not reopened:
Following "all year"-routes will be completely closed from January 10-12, 2014:
Stockholm-Skavsta ↔ Budapest
Stockholm-Skavsta ↔ Riga
Stockholm-Skavsta ↔ Berlin Schönefeld
Stockholm-Skavsta ↔ Düsseldorf Weeze
Stockholm-Skavsta ↔ Frankfurt Hahn
Stockholm-Skavsta ↔ Lübeck Hamburg
Reason: Ryanair has said "due to lack of aircraft", might be reopened in future when they're getting more aircrafts. Stockholm Skavsta CEO has not accepted this "reason" and wishing for Ryanair to visit Skavsta for a meeting/press conference as this news came so suddenly. Hello, your quote about Antwerp Airport is very interesting. Where did you hear this? What I do not understand is the technical feasability.... Antwerp Airport has a runway of 1500 meters, and I believe the 737-800 requires 1800 meters of runway, so how is it possible?

by the way, I think they only negotiate with BMI, not Ryan.

Hello, they are working on a safety strip wich is needed to aply at certain international rules, and the airport has already the C3 certificut wich means that a boeing 737 is the biggest airplane that is aloud to land in Deurne. The new director of airport Deurne was the director of the airport Brussels Charleroi, and he said 2 months ago that talks has beeing held with 2 airline companys and 1 of them is a low cost company, but he did not say the name of the company. But i think it would be Ryanair, because they closed they routes at Maastricht airport.
