PSR : Pescara "Pasquale Liberi" - "Aeroporto Internazionale d'Abruzzo"

Pescara lies on the Italian Adriatic coast, at about same latitude as Rome, same longitude as Napoli, in the Regione Abruzzo.

The airport is some 3 km away from the city center.

The bus line 38 runs every 15 min between the main railway sation and the airport. Tickets are 1 euro, to be bought (vending machines, tabbachino, etc) before boarding.
There are buslines from Pescara to/from Rome (Tiburtina and Fiumicino) and to/from Naples.
Pescara is an important station on the main railway line that comes from Milano and Bologna and follows the Adriatic coast from Rimini to Lecce, in the deep south. Also head of the railway line to Roma via Sulmona and Avezzano.

There are at the moment (summer 2011)
- international flights to : London Stansted, Eindhoven, Frankfurt Hahn, Girona, Brussels South Charleroi, Oslo Torp, Paris Beauvais
- and domestic flights to Trapani, Milano Bergamo and Cagliari.

Over Pescara after take-off :

The first picture was taken just after my landing of EI-DYR, which operated FR5529 from Eindhoven on Pescara's Aeroporto d'Abruzzo. Nice little terminal with a lovely mediterranean look.

Second picture is our plane (EI-EBD) preparing for it's first flight of the day (08:20 departure), which was FR5528 with destination Eindhoven. Picture was taken from the terminal, the waiting area of gate 3 to be precise.

Several persons who have taken a flight at Pescara this summer tell me that it's quite useless to buy a "priority boarding" there : it's always "il casino", meaning complete disorganisation and confusion at the gate, everybody exiting in disorder.
All the more so if there are two flights departing at the same time, it's then a real pandemonium...
