It didn't overshoot. It had landed and was taxiing off the runway when it went over black ice and slid off. Prestwick has a lot of questions to answer regarding the maintenance of the runway.

Absolutely! How on earth couldn't they keep the runway safe for landings? There had already been many aircraft movements earlier that morning!
Regarding the incident: It may look like the Limoges incident but is a totally different case. The aircraft had finished it's breaking action and was taxiing off the runway. Nothing near a runway overshoot! And that passenger quoted in the BBC article doesn't seem to have a clue of flying. Typical for BBC to interview someone without a clue...
Enough said.
